Shipwrecked! If ever there were a fairy tale by the sea, this would be it. Inspired by a washed ashore mermaid bride and a handsome shipwrecked groom, every inch of this sandy shoot is covered in a laid back beach-y vibe fit for seaside lovers. Tamara Menges Designs‘ wild florals float with the wind and Jen Rios Weddings pulled every pretty touch together seamlessly. Drift away in all the romance below.
The inspiration started with a vision of a handsome “shipwrecked” Groom who elopes with a stunning mystical mermaid. We wanted to evoke a sense of romance mixed with classical beach elements. Our tablescape was set on an antique chest that may have washed ashore with our mermaid bride. We created a gorgeous floral runner with shells and a silvery fish net mixed in. The place settings were a mix of old and new – the plates from Anthropologie that resembled the inside of an oyster shells and vintage flatware and glassware that could have perhaps been found in the chest with other treasures. Our Bride and Groom announced their nuptials by sending their loved ones a message in a bottle and inviting them to a reception later in the year to celebrate. Our mermaid bride wore a gorgeous Enaura gown with sparkly scallop detail evoking a similar pattern to a mermaid’s tail. Her long flowing hair and glistening skin was perfectly styled to give her that fairy tale look.
